Bring back the Church Militant

Did you hear the rumours that the current Pope is about to be stripped of his powers? The story has gone viral. If there's any truth in it the chattering classes will be unhappy. Because Francis 'brought the Church into the modern world'. In general I don't get those so-called Catholics who deride the Church for ‘not keeping up with the times’......in other words not changing its teachings in line with the current zeitgeist.

Here’s one typical comment:

“There is resistance to Christian doctrine with regard to birth control, divorce, new forms of marriage, homosexuality, cohabitation, fidelity, pre-marital sex.” Why not add in pornography, full-term abortion and bestiality as you’re at it. Because, you know, these things are becoming much more acceptable nowadays, aren't they? Former Irish President and ‘staunch Catholic’ Mary McAleese demands ‘a new theology of women’. Whatever the hell that’s supposed to mean. But these days anything with ‘women’ in it automatically elicits serious and thoughtful nods of approval.

The logic, if I may use that term, underpinning such demands seems to be that once an action becomes generally acceptable then the Church must alter its teachings accordingly. But this misses the whole point of Catholicism which rests on the foundation of Papal Infallibility which in turn is based on the Pope’s status as God’s Representative On Earth. Now I don’t go along with this concept for one minute and it underpinned my abandonment of the religion - all religion – in my late youth. But that’s what being a Catholic is all about. You sign up or ship out. I mean, who can argue with God, right?

It should also be noted that the list of demands outlined above is very much an expression of prevailing lifestyles. Every single one would have been considered outrageous and unacceptable at any earlier stage of history, even fifty years ago. And they might become unacceptable again. So you can understand those who urge a proceed-with-caution approach. And here’s another thing of which the Vatican, ever alert to the bottom line, will be well aware. Those religions that swing with the popular mood, that have become 'progressive and liberal' are sinking into irrelevance, an irrelevance characterised by empty churches. And empty coffers. The Anglican Church and its American equivalent (Episcopalians) are prime examples.

Meanwhile those that are red in tooth and claw, and that cling to the most outlandish beliefs - think the Religion Of Peace and the mega churches in America run by degenerate hucksters - are thriving. Speaking of which, when I look at the destruction being wrought on White societies I sometimes wistfully imagine a rebirth of the (for me, hated) Church Militant. That organisation wouldn't pussy-foot around with ragheads swarming all over us and with Jews, under the ruse of secularism, systematically destroying every vestige of Christian influence and tradition. No they'd smite and thrust and set them fleeing for their lives. But the CM is gone, never to return.
